Bioconstruction means
community
Participatory bioconstruction sites, hosted
in ecological settings.
To experience the theory and practice of building with natural materials, while living in community.

> Bioconstruction starts from observation
It means reading a place, hearing a need, bringing existing resources into a system.
Natural building teaches that there are no universal solutions: every material, every technique, every gesture makes sense only in relation to the context in which it is born.
These workshops are created for those who want to approach green building by learning directly on site: getting their hands dirty, understanding the properties of materials, and discovering how each technique responds to a specific context and need.

> WHAT YOU WILL FIND IN THE COURSES
Natural building workshops are participatory building sites, generally lasting about ten days.
During the building site:
- we work with earth, straw, lime, cocciopesto and recycled materials
- we test different building techniques, applied to real projects
- we alternate practical moments with moments of theoretical study
In the theoretical part we explore in depth:
- the properties of natural materials
- the criteria for choosing the right material based on the context and needs
- elements of bioconstruction design
The goal is not to learn one technique, but to develop the ability to assess and choose.

> HOW THE EXPERIENCE IS LIVED

The worksite is a place of intense and shared learning.
We work together, eat together, and go through group processes and collective satisfactions.
The workshops are hosted within regeneration, permaculture and ecovillage projects, offering the chance to:
- explore alternative ways of living
- get to know already established projects
- connect with communities and territories
The group is supported by careful facilitation, which creates a safe, inclusive and collaborative space, where everyone can find their own way to contribute.

> WHAT YOU TAKE HOME
A site experience leaves concrete traces:
- basic skills in natural building
- a deeper understanding of materials and their uses
- tools to read contexts and design needs
- direct experience of work on site
- greater awareness of group dynamics
- contacts and relations in the world of practical ecology

To learn to build, you need to get your hands dirty.
While waiting to see each other on site, I have prepared for you an introductory guide to start exploring the world of raw earth.
